Primula veris, commonly known as cowslip, is a flowering perennial plant in the primrose family (Primulaceae). Native to Europe and western Asia, it thrives in meadows and grasslands. It features clusters of fragrant, yellow flowers with orange spots, blooming in spring. Traditionally used in herbal medicine, it has mild sedative and anti-inflammatory properties. Prefers well-drained soil and partial shade.
