Blue star juniper (Juniperus squamata 'Blue Carpet')

Juniperus squamata, commonly known as flaky juniper or Himalayan juniper, is an evergreen coniferous shrub native to the Himalayas and parts of China. It has blue-green, needle-like foliage and a spreading growth habit. This hardy plant thrives in well-drained soils and full sun, making it popular in rock gardens and as ground cover. It is drought-tolerant and slow-growing, reaching up to 1.5 meters in height. Some cultivars, like 'Blue Star,' are prized for their dense, compact form and striking silver-blue foliage.
