The Liriodendron tulipifera, commonly known as the tulip tree or yellow poplar, is a fast-growing deciduous tree native to eastern North America. It features distinctive tulip-shaped flowers with greenish-yellow petals and orange markings, blooming in late spring. The leaves are uniquely lobed with a flat or slightly notched tip. It can reach heights of 70–100 feet (21–30 meters) and is valued for its timber, ornamental beauty, and as a nectar source for pollinators. Prefers well-drained, slightly acidic soil and full sun.
